Our History

History, below you will find our time-line, from our initial founding to the latest news and changes we have done recently. Get to know more about our company and what we stand for.

2005

Where it all started...

D.R.I.B.B are the initials of our founders, Daniel, Rachel, Irene, Benny (Richards), Benny (Andrews), Dribb.com was originally founded in December 2005 (so we know our stuff), originally focused on providing basic Shared Web Hosting services directly to locals (based in London, UK).

2012

Acquired by Atlantis Corp Limited.

Dribb.com was acquired by Atlantis Corp Limited in 2012, it continued to operate the Shared Web Hosting service with a vision of expanding the product/service offering by investing heavily in new hardware and software to offer more to customers.

2015 - 2016

New & Improved...

In January 2015 Dribb.com launched on Facebook & Twitter, the first social outing for the business since it's launch in 2005.
In February 2015 a brand new website design was launched combining new services such as Shoutcast streaming, Web Design & Reseller solutions.

In 2016 saw several changes including launching a new streaming server (this services our radio streaming customers) we also launched the IceCast streaming option for customers.

2017

Improving What We Offer.

2017 saw the launch of the first Virtual Private Server and Dedicated Server packages.
In March 2017 support for Shoutcast V1 was dropped on both normal and reseller services, Shoutcast V1 has not received updates in over 12 years, it is outdated and full of security flaws. With TuneIn.com and Shoutcast.com also dropping support for Shoutcast V1 it made sense to focus efforts on software that is supported and maintained.
Later in 2017 all Shared Hosting moved to a brand new home - earth.dribb.com, the move was part of a strategic plan to improve the Shared Web Hosting experience for customers, allowing us to fully control our server hardware to meet those needs.
In late 2017 also saw the Client Area - where customers can seek technical support, check account status and pay invoices - be updated and re-branded as "My Dribb" including a domain change to my.dribb.com, this is part of a greater focus on improving the service customers experience.

2018

More Security.

In 2018 Shoutcast.com, the owners/developers behind the Shoutcast platform including desktop & server software, moved to create "premium" paid plans by removing loved features such as AAC and limiting broadcasting to a max of 128kbps on the new "free" plan, forcing users to pay additional fees to them directly to get back the features they have enjoyed for years, as such Dribb.com offered customers the option to move over to the Icecast service when using the Centova Cast panel.
In late 2018 SSL certificates were issued to all Centova Cast servers, this allowed customers to access the web control panel with a secured https address.
Full support for the free Let's Encrypt SSL platform was added to all Shared Web Hosting customers, that allowed all customers that do not purchase their own dedicated SSL certificate to be able to have an https address.

2019

Moving Forward.

April 2019 saw the launch of the new Premium streaming service, this included the launch of the brand new control panel - MediaCP, an alternative to the fast becoming outdated Centova Cast panel, MediaCP supported much of the same functionality but wrapped in a modern panel with support for the new Shoutcast premium plans and full SSL/https links available, the MediaCP service is available for both single & reseller customers.
In June 2019 a new range of VPS & Dedicated Servers had been unveiled, with a wider range of specifications, the new range has never been more pealing to a wider customer base.

2020

Full Power Ahead.

In the first part of 2020 server migration operations took place, moving customers from older legacy hardware to new hardware, this included both Shared Web Hosting and Centova Cast streaming customers, Shared Web Hosting customers gained greater DDoS protection thanks to investment in greater security as part of our growing commitment to offer greater security for customers.
In April 2020, a completely new Dribb.com website was launched, this included a new My Dribb customer area.
The new website is part of an ongoing review of the business, taking customer feedback on-board, looking at every aspect that can be improved for customers.
This new website included the launch of a revamped Radio Stream service to offer a more compelling service offering to customers, this provided customer the choice between the panels such as Centova Cast & SonicPanel.
As of 2020, data centre locations include Florida, USA - Missouri, USA and North Carolina, USA.

2022

Business Rebrand - NuCast Is Born!

In late 2021 the decision was taken to rebrand Dribb to NuCast and in turn to become part of NuWeb Solutions LTD, the Dribb web hosting business was moved over to NuHosting, leaving NuCast to focus 100% on Radio & TV Broadcasting.

In 2022 NuCast UK launched at NuCast.co.uk, with streaming servers now 100% based in the United Kingdom and offering new services including Cloud Video Streaming, Jingles/IDs and Dedicated Server based Stream Reseller services, so resellers are now on their own machine, not sharing with other resellers.

From June 2022, Dribb.com will no longer be updated.

The products previously available on the Dribb.com website have been updated to reflect the new plans from NuCast (new products won't be listed on Dribb).

Thank you to all our customers for being part of the Dribb family, now very much welcomed in to the NuWeb family, we will continue this journey via NuCast.co.uk and NuHosting.co.uk! :-)
